Victims in train deaths identified
Concord Police have identified two men killed this week in separate train/pedestrian accidents
The first incident occurred on Sunday, Jan. 27, at about 5:30 p.m. Both the victim and the Amtrak train were traveling northbound on the tracks in the area of Magnolia Crossing Circle in Concord when the collision occurred. The victim in that incident has been identified as Travis Lamar Vinson, 18, of 679 Central Drive, Concord.
The second incident occurred on Monday, Jan. 28, at about 1 p.m. Both the victim and the Norfolk-Southern train were traveling southbound on the tracks in the area of 3600 S. Ridge Ave. in Concord when the collision occurred. The victim in that incident has been identified as William Floyd Jones, 49, 510 Hyde St., Kannapolis.
