Deputies investigating vehicle break-in spree

GOLD HILL — Deputies are investigating several vehicle break-ins after a rash of thefts last week.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office said at least six vehicles were targeted during a spree on Old Beatty Ford and Gin roads.
According to reports, at least two handguns were taken during the vehicle break-ins, but most vehicles had little property taken.
Investigators said they believe the thefts are linked. Neighbors in the 14000 block of Old Beatty Ford Road and the 1700 block of Gin Road contacted authorities on Jan. 17.
Incident reports show a .380-caliber handgun and a .357-caliber handgun were taken from two vehicles on Old Beatty Ford Road.
