Police investigating Concord death

CONCORD Police have started a death investigation after finding someone stabbed this afternoon in Concord.

According to a press release, Concord police were called to Heatherwood Court shortly after 4 p.m. today to investigate a report of an assault. Upon arrival, police and emergency medical personnel discovered a person dead at the scene. The victim appeared to have received at least one stab wound.

The investigation at this point indicates the people involved in the dispute were acquainted with each other, police said. Those involved in the fight have been identified and are being interviewed.

No names are being released at this point as the investigation continues and the family of the victim remains to be contacted.
