Margaret Alexander Seamon, formerly of China Grove, was honored with a party to celebrate her 100th birthday at Liberty Commons Nursing Home on Dec. 30, 2012. Mrs. Seamon was born in Mecklenburg County on Dec. 31, 1912, the daughter of Frances Alexander and Dora Winecoff Alexander. She married James Lee Seamon in 1931 and moved with him to China Grove where they raised four sons. They were married for 56 years before he passed away in 1987. In addition to her sons, Mrs. Seamon has nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She has been a member of FUMC in China Grove for more than 70 years, where she is currently the oldest living member.
