MOUNT HOLLY (AP) — Authorities in Mount Holly have arrested a 26-year-old woman and accused her of shooting at random passing vehicles.
Ashley Nicole Hunsucker of Stanley was taken into custody after a motorist called 911 and reported that a woman was shooting at vehicles on Belmont-Mount Holly Road.
Mount Holly Police Chief David James said officers found a woman near an intersection. James said officers found a .380-caliber pistol in the woman’s possession, as well as two spent shell casings.
A witness said the woman fired shots at two different vehicles.
James said Hunsucker faces multiple charges, including assault with a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm in city limits.
Hunsucker is free on $5,000 bond from the Gaston County jail.
