Meals on Wheels helps many to continue living at home
Have you ever wondered whether your mother, father, grandmother will be able to stay in their own home? I recently had a daughter reaching out to Meals on Wheels because her mother wanted to stay at home but was unable to prepare meals. The daughter did not know where to turn. I was delighted to be able to say Meals on Wheels can help. Meals on Wheels allows our clients the opportunity to stay at home. This is usually where they feel most comfortable and secure.
Meals on Wheels of Rowan Inc. is a member agency of Rowan County United Way. Without the Rowan County United Way we could not provide this help. They provide funding which enables us to deliver the meals. Currently, we are delivering 200 meals daily to the disabled and homebound in our county. Many of these individuals are your mothers, fathers, grandparents or aunts and uncles.
Some people take Meals on Wheels for granted until the need arises for them. Just like this daughter, we may never know when we might need help personally. I am thankful that I live in a community that provides not only Meals on Wheels but the other services offered by the Rowan County United Way.
