SALISBURY — Deputies arrested a Mt. Hope Church Road man accused of burglarizing several China Grove businesses.

Cullen Junior Wilbanks II was taken into custody after deputies found him hiding in a residence on Wakefield Drive Friday afternoon, according to a Rowan County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.

Authorities said Wilbanks, 36, broke into several storage buildings owned by Grove Supply in China Grove. Authorities also believe Wilbanks stole an air conditioning unit from S&S Graham’s Archery on South Main Street.

Deputies charged Wilbanks with two counts of felony breaking and entering, three counts of felony larceny and misdemeanor larceny.

Wilbanks was placed in the Rowan County jail under a $5,000 bond.

Anyone with information about the break-ins is asked to contact the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office at 704-216-8700.
