Business roundup: Doctor joins Carolina Women’s Health Associates
SALISBURY — Dr. Jamila Crawford has joined Carolina Women’s Health Associates and Rowan Regional Medical Center.
She will be part of the practice that includes Drs. Jessica Blumenthal, James Murphy, Holly Stevens and certified nurse midwife Joan Lynn.
The practice has locations in Salisbury in the Kiser Medical Office building on the campus of Rowan Regional Medical Center and in China Grove at 307 E. Thom St.
Crawford completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, where she served as co-chief administrative resident. She attended medical school at East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine in Greenville. Crawford is also a member of the American Medical Association and a junior fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Crawford is a native of Charlotte.
She has a special interest in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and obstetrical/pregnancy care and is now accepting new patients.

Pearson DeBoer, firm in Charleston merge
BOLD Communications Group, a Charleston, S.C.-based marketing and communications firm, is merging with Pearson DeBoer Creative Solutions of Salisbury.
BOLD’s locations offer strategic marketing and communications services including public relations, corporate media and video production, graphic design, advertising and website development, event management andsocial media messaging.

Cabarrus legislative breakfast in Friday
The Cabarrus Regional Chamber of Commerce will host the 2013 Annual Legislative Breakfast on Friday, Jan. 4. The event will be held in downtown Kannapolis at the Old Cabarrus Bank Building on West Avenue.
The breakfast will include a forum for discussion and an exchange of pertinent issues before our legislators. There is also the opportunity to communicate concerns, comments and questions to Legislators.
Keynote speaker will be the recently re-elected state treasurer, Janet Cowell. She will speak about goals for her next term.
Other state legislators will address guests and answer questions. Those include Sen. Fletcher Hartsell and Reps. Linda Johnson and Larry Pittman. Rep.-elect Carl Ford will take part.

ECPI’s career discovery day in Concord
ECPI University is holding Career Discovery Days, a series of open houses to be held at 4800 Airport Center Parkway, Suite 100 in Charlotte and 124 Floyd Smith Drive in Concord on Saturday, Jan. 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 14-15 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
