SALISBURY — Billy James Bost spent the last 19 Christmases in the pen.
He’ll likely spend this one behind bars, too.
Bost was paroled nine years early in May after he was convicted on a slew of charges in 1993, but the 47-year-old was arrested again on Christmas Eve. He was charged with stealing shotguns and pistols from a Rowan County deputy’s home on two separate occasions.
Bost was taken into custody at his home on East Beaver Street in China Grove about 9:30 a.m.
He was charged with two counts of felony breaking and entering; two counts of felony larceny; two counts of possession of a stolen firearm and two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon.
Bost took a .380-caliber pistol, a .45-caliber Smith &?Wesson handgun, two Remington 12-gauge shotguns and another .45-caliber pistol from officer Steve Fortune’s home near Airport Road, according to warrants.
The 47-year-old remained in Rowan County jail Monday night under a $100,000 bond.
In 1993, Bost was convicted of numerous charges including felony breaking and entering and was found to be a habitual felon.
The?Corrections’ Department website said the 47-year-old was expected to be released in 2021, but was paroled May 24.
