All eighth and 10th graders in North Carolina have taken the Explore or Plan assessment and all 11th graders will be taking the ACT on March 5th.
Jackie Pearson, a senior consultant from ACT, will be on hand during the Dec. 11 Parent Academy to teach parents how to read the Explore and Plan individual student reports so that they can be used to best prepare students for college and/or careers after high school. He will then share resources and describes strategies for preparing for the ACT. There will also be time for questions and answers.
Here is the schedule for the event, which will be held at A.L. Brown High School’s media center:
6 to 6:45 p.m. – Explore and Plan individual student reports
6:45 to 7 p.m. – Refreshments, question and answer session
7 to 8 p.m. – Preparing for the ACT
Use the “Parent” link on the KCS webpage at www.kannapolis.k12.nc.us to register. The “Learning from Explore/Plan & Preparing for ACT” parent academy sign-up is listed under “courses.”
