DENVER (AP) — A North Carolina-based subsidiary of a Chinese company says it will fill about 450 jobs within four years at a new manufacturing and distribution operation.
North Carolina officials said Monday that Denver Global Products Inc. will receive nearly $3 million in incentives if it creates the jobs, keep them for 10 years, and invests $30 million in Lincoln County.
The state Commerce Department says the jobs will pay an average of almost $30,000 a year plus benefits, below the average Lincoln County wage of $31,250.
Denver Global was acquired by China’s Chongqing RATO Power Company in January and now employs about 30 people at its location in the Lincoln County town of Denver. RATO makes general-purpose engines for all-terrain vehicles, motorcycles, water pumps and generators.
