In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Rowan Regional Breast Health Center, Cruiserworks Motorcycle Gear, Literary Bookpost and the Salisbury Writers and Artists Guild, Inc. (SWAG) will sponsor an evening with author and speaker Tamela Rich, on Monday, Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. at the Literary Bookpost in Downtown Salisbury as part of the Reading Between the Wines Book Club.
Rich wrote “Live Full Throttle: Life Lessons from Friends Who Faced Cancer” after riding her motorcycle across 32 states and three Canadian provinces interviewing women facing cancer. She speaks to medical, community and business groups about her experiences as “the accidental cancer advocate” and the lessons she has learned about life through long-distance motorcycle travel.
Women Riders Now says of Rich’s book, “Some of the stories will make you tear up, all will make you smile, and each one has a powerful message we all can learn from whether or not we’ve faced cancer in our own lives.”
Popular motorcycle blogger Cyclegirl says, “This book will make you laugh, cry and end with a big broad smile (Tamela) compiled real stories straight from the women she met along the way and shared them with us so lovingly.” While another celebrated blogger, Samcat shares, “This book is a ‘must’ for everyone. This book is about putting your fears behind one’s self and braving the storm of whatever we do face. The book is not only for cancer survivors and families, but can be applied to any difficult course in life.”
The Literary Bookpost has advanced copies for purchase.
