Ballard ~ Scarborough

KANNAPOLIS — Lara Marie Ballard and Justin Caleb Scarborough were united in marriage Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at Jackson Park United Methodist Church. The Rev. Neal Brower officiated the 5 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception at the Copperfield Room in Concord.
The bride was escorted by her father, Ira Ballard, and attended by Erin Basinger of Greenville, N.C., as maid of honor. Serving as bridesmaids were Ashley Upright of Kannapolis, Jaycee Marks of Mooresville, Ashley Seamon of Kannapolis, Becky Evenson of Sarasota, Fla., and Destiny Crocker of Kannapolis, all friends of the bride. Ellyse Scarborough of Kannapolis and Kayleah Scarborough of Salisbury were junior bridesmaids.
William “Frank” Scarborough served as his son’s best man. Groomsmen included cousin of the bride Jacob Kelly of Kannapolis; brothers of the groom Matt Scarborough of Salisbury, Josh Scarborough of Kannapolis and Jacob  Scarborough of China Grove; and friend of the groom Josh Van Eseltine of Davidson.
Alizea Anderson of Concord, cousin of the bride, and Ava Scarborough of Kannapolis, niece of the groom, were flower girls. Caden Scarborough of Kannapolis, nephew of the groom, was ring bearer.
Guest registrar was Kristin Carlton of Concord, friend of the  bride. Program attendants included cousin of the bride Billy Cole Burris of Kannapolis and nephews of the groom Dawsyn Williams and Ethan Scarborough, both of Salisbury.
Soloists for the wedding were Hunter Fuller of China Grove and Ann White of Kannapolis. Entertainment and Director for the reception was provided by BK Entertainment.
The bride is the daughter of Ira and Cathy Ballard and the granddaughter of Opal Burris, all of Kannapolis, and Junior Kelly of Concord. A 2009 graduate of South Rowan High School, Lara received an Associate degree in Nursing from Cabarrus College of Health Sciences in 2012. She is a registered nurse.
The groom is the son of William “Frank” and Linda Scarborough of China Grove and the grandson of Myrtle Braswell of Salisbury and Nancy Scarborough of China Grove. A 2007 graduate of Jesse C. Carson High School, Justin received a Certificate in Basic Law Enforcement from Rowan-Cabarrus Community College in 2009. He is employed by the Kannapolis Police Department.
Following a wedding trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple will make their home in Kannapolis.
