BOONE (AP) — Authorities say a Watauga County jail inmate is charged with throwing urine on three officers.
The Watauga Democrat reports that Tommie Joe Booher, 38, is charged with three felony counts of malicious conduct by a prisoner. Sheriff Len Hagaman says Booher threw urine on the officers as they attempted to quiet him down while making their rounds. Two were hit in the eyes and mouth. The third officer’s uniform was hit.
Booher is set to appear in court next month on those charges.
According to the sheriff’s office, Booher was in jail on charges of driving with a revoked license, driving with a fictitious tag and failure to register as a sex offender. He also is awaiting trial on charges of motor vehicle larceny and misdemeanor assault.
