KANNAPOLIS — Alternative rock singer-songwriter Tori Amos of Newton will be inducted into the N.C. Music Hall of Fame this year.
The induction ceremony is set for Oct. 11 at Gibson Mill Vintage Auto Club Conference and Events Center at 325 McGill Ave. in Concord. The museum is located in Kannapolis at the N.C. Research Campus.
Other inductees include:
• Shirley Austin Reeves and Doris Kenner Jackson (deceased), original members of the Shirelles from Henderson and Goldsboro;
• Jodeci, rhythm and blues and new jack swing from Charlotte;
• Nantucket, hard rock from Jacksonville;
• Stonewall Jackson, country from Tabor City;
• Lou Donaldson, jazz and bebop saxophonist from Badin;
• The late J.E. Mainer, bluegrass and country fiddler from Weaverville;
• Fred Foster, a record executive/producer and founder of Monument Records from Rutherford County.
