The Granite Quarry Elementary School Science Club recently held its first Air Rocket Launch. Members competed in grade level categories. The third-grade winner was Josh Houck; fourth-grade was won by Grace Kenyon; while the fifth-grade event was won by Nicholas Gumiela. The project was inquiry-based with students planning, preparing and constructing the rockets for the event. The Granite Quarry Science Club meets every Thursday after school under the direction of staff members Sandy Davis and Jennifer Eagle.
