Rusher ~ Lyerly
The Rev. Stephen Haines officiated the 4:30 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a dinner reception at Childress Vineyards in Lexington.
The bride was escorted by her father, Ed Rusher, and attended by Joy Ritchie of Winston-Salem and Andréa Denis of Gent, Belgium, as maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Erin Rusher of Salisbury, sister-in-law of the bride, as well as friends of the bride Sonja LaBounty of Sanford, Claire Herrington of Wilmington, Leslie Norrington and Cassie Smith, both of Washington, D.C
The groom’s father served as best man and his brother, Logan Lyerly of Charlotte, was the honorary best man. Groomsmen included Curt Rusher of Salisbury, brother of the bride, Mike LaBounty of Sanford, cousin of the groom, as well as friends of the groom Patrick Brown of High Point, Chris Jedd of Washington, D.C., Jeff Gill and Josh Kirbo, both of Raleigh.
Cousin of the bride Will Welch of Landis served as ring bearer. Program attendants were Molly Jaynes of Asheville, cousin of the bride, as well as cousins of the groom, Taylor LaBounty and Morgan LaBounty, both of Sanford. Organist Matthew Brown, as well as soloists Josh Welch and April Woerner, provided music for the ceremony. Instrumentalists Anita Cirba, Ms. Corine Brouwer, Mr. Andrew Emmett and Ms. J. Alexandra Johnston of the Winston-Salem Symphony Orchestra accompanied music for the service.
The bride is the daughter of Ed and Margaret Rusher of Salisbury. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Helen Rusher and the late Mr. George Rusher, Jr. of Salisbury and the late Mr. Harold Cole Moore and Mrs. Mary Moore Moss of Swannanoa. A 2005 honor graduate of East Rowan High School, Marla graduated with distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2009 with a degree in Business Administration from the Kenan-Flagler Business School. She is the Credit Analysis Manager for BB&T in Winston-Salem.
The groom is the son of Junior and Kathy Lyerly of Salisbury. He is the grandson of Mrs. Dorothy Starnes and the late Mr. Burt Starnes of Spencer, as well as the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman Lyerly of Salisbury. A 2005 graduate of East Rowan High School, Chace graduated from North Carolina State University in 2011 with degrees in Business Administration and Communication. Chace is a regional manager for General Nutrition Center and is based out of Winston-Salem.
On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at La Cava of Salisbury.
Following a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple will make their home in Clemmons.
