Lisa Hardy made her first hole-in-one on Tuesday on the No. 3 hole at McCanless. Playing from the red tees, Hardy used a 9-iron on the 110-yard hole. Kim Kincaid witnessed the feat.
- Crescent ace
Steve Tarnok had a hole-in-one on the 134-yard No. 8 hole at Crescent Golf Club on Tuesday. He made his ace with a 6-iron.
- GARS
Fifty-two GARS members played with a captain's choice format Monday at Corbin Hills.
Two teams tied for first at 8 under. O.J. Chandler, Clarence Derrick, Dick Hatoway and Larry Perrell took first in a scorecard playoff with Charlie Christmas, Tony LaBarbera, David Lee and Frank Masingo.
Five teams finished at 7 under.
Bill Hathcock and Jim Bain took closest to the pin honors on No. 2 and No. 5, respectively.
Jim Brown knocked down the longest putt on No. 9.
- Prep football
West Rowan's football team is ranked sixth in the latest CarolinaPreps.com poll for all classifications. A.L. Brown is ranked 24th, while South Rowan is 29th.
- Cross country
All eight cross country state championships will be held at Tanglewood Park in Clemmons on Saturday.

- College soccer
Catawba's men's soccer season ended with a 3-1 loss at Carson-Newman in the first round of the SAC tournament on Tuesday.
Kirby Freeland scored for the Indians. Tyler Held made seven saves. Eighth-seeded Catawba finished 5-12-1.
- College volleyball
Pfeiffer's women's volleyball team beat Belmont Abbey 3-1 on Tuesday. Pfeiffer is 19-11 and 14-3 in Conference Carolinas.
- J.O. volleyball
The Davidson County Volleyball Association and Rowan Volleyball Club have combined to form the High Rock Volleyball Club.

- Hurley YMCA
