Livingstone was crushed by CIAA rival Fayetteville State 55-20 in its season finale on Saturday.

The Broncos (8-2, 6-1) scored 20 seconds into the game and kept the heat on. Livingstone (3-7, 3-4) trailed 21-0 after the first quarter and 41-6 at halftime.

Livingstone QB Steven Williams threw touchdown passes to Rashaad Flucker, Chris Peoples and Travis Allen and a two-point conversion pass to Bryan Aycoth (West Rowan).

Williams was 18-for-40 passing for 273 yards but was sacked six times and picked off three times.

Allen had two catches for 92 yards. Peoples had five receptions for 83.

Flucker rushed 16 times for a net of 36 yards.

Robert Massey-Brice made nine tackles for Livingstone's defense, including two for loss. Anthony Earles recorded a sack.

n Rowan Rampage wins

The Rowan Rampage beat the Greenville Seminoles 28-8 on Saturday night to advance to the CCFL championship game.

n Prep cross country

Salisbury's girls finished eighth in the 2A state championship meet at Tanglewood on Saturday.

"I am proud of the finish we had," Salisbury coach Trella McLean said. "We improved two spots from last year against some tough teams."

Katherine Shields was 22nd in 21:33.58 to lead the Hornets. Katelyn Horning had her best race and was 37th in 22:25.37. Emily Shields was 44th, Jenna Bryan was 64th, and Margaret Kaufman was 98th.

n Salisbury's Nick Summers ran as an individual in the 2A boys state meet and finished 22nd in 17:55.73.

n West Rowan's Leslie Pence competed as an individual in the 3A girls meet and was 44th in 21:07.58.

n A.L. Brown's Larry Scaggs was 15th as an individual in the 3A boys state meet in 16:46.84.

South Rowan's Michael York finished 61st in 17:49.23.

Mooresville, led by Josh Cox (eighth) and Graham Sledge (ninth) won the 3A boys championship.

n Led by Dalton Wally ((fourth) and Patrick Sullivan (11th), Gray Stone's boys finished second in 1A.

n Gray Stone's Hunter Latimer was sixth in the 1A girls meet in 20:30.10. Janna Featherstone was 22nd.

n Mooresville race

Salisbury's Allison Dupree was the first-place female in Mooresville's recent Pumpkin Run 8K race with a time of 39 minutes, 35 seconds. She finished 10th overall in a field of approximately 50 runners.

Dupree, an Erwin Middle School teacher and basketball coach, was the SAC cross country champion as a sophomore at Catawba, and SPC and Rowan County champion in both cross country and track while running for East Rowan.

n Prep volleyball

Led by Molly Rhyne, undefeated North Iredell swept D.H. Conley to win the 3A volleyball state title in Raleigh on Saturday.

West Henderson (2A), Myers Park (4A) and Swain (1A) also won state championships.

n Cage mayhem

"Rampage in Rowan," a program of Mixed Martial Arts cage fights is coming to Salisbury's National Guard Armory on Nov. 8 at 7:30 p.m.

This event is MMA Fan Appreciation Night and features top MMA fighters from the Mid-Atlantic area.

n Middle school football Knox's eighth-graders defeated North Rowan 14-12.

Max Allen scored on a 90-yard touchdown run. Kiero Cutherberson ran for a two-point coversion. Ben Ritchie had two catches for 60 yards, including the game-winning touchdown pass.

Scott Givens and Parker McKeithan had stellar performances on defense and special teams for the Trojans.

n Catawba athletics

Paige Harrington scored three goals to lead Catawba (13-4-1, 6-1-1) to a 5-0 SAC women's soccer victory against Brevard on Saturday.

n Carter Richardson scored on a rebound to give Catawba's men's soccer team (4-13, 2-6) a 1-0 overtime victory against Brevard.

n Catawba's volleyball team got nine kills and a dozen blocks from freshman Shay Meeks in a sweep of Newberry on Friday.

n Melissa Griffith had seven aces and 13 kills as Catawba's volleyball team (17-9, 9-5) swept Brevard on Saturday.

Melissa Powers had 12 kills, and Megan Courson dished out 36 assists.
