Four left at Rowan Amateur

The Horace Billings Rowan Amateur golf tournament is wide open after a flurry of upsets knocked out favorites in match play staged at Corbin Hills on Saturday.

Steve Gegorek made three birdies on the back nine, shot 1-under for his round and eliminated defending champion Ronnie Eidson 2-up.

Eric Mulkey made three birdies, shot 1-under and topped qualifying medalist and former champion Keith Dorsett 1-up.

Stephen Bullock posted a 1-under round, knocked in a pair of birdies and outlasted former champion Gary Miller in a 21-hole marathon.

In the other quarterfinal, Ryan Honeycutt shot 1-under and cruised past Dwayne McIntyre in a 5-and-4 match.

Mulkey will face Bullock and Honeycutt will take on Gegorek in semifinal matches this morning at 8:06 a.m.

The winners will meet for the championship this afternoon.
