Staff reportA schedule change has been announced for the American Legion playoff series between Rowan County and Mocksville.

Rowan will still play host to Mocksville at Newman Park tonight to open the best-of-five series.

Game 2, which was to be played at Mocksville's Rich Park on Saturday afternoon, has now been shifted to 7 p.m. at Newman Park. Game 3 is set for Sunday night at Rich Park. Game 4, if necessary, would be played in Mocksville on Monday.

If the series goes the distance, Rowan would be home for Game 5 on Tuesday.

Mocksville could not play host to Game 2 on Saturday night because Rich Park is the home of an annual fireworks display on July 4.

Other playoff openers tonight have Wilkes at South Rowan, Concord at Mooresvile and Lexington at Stanly.
