Prep track: Cuthbertson All-American in Boston

North Rowan sophomore Teaunna Cuthbertson earned National Scholastic Sports Foundation All-America honors on Sunday at the Nike Indoor Nationals.

The track competition was held at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.

Cuthbertson was a medalist in the long jump, placing fourth with a best of 18 feet, 9 inches. The best of Cuthbertson's five jumps was her third.

Jen Clayton (Suffern, N.Y.) won the event with an effort of 19-6. The national record for girls is 21-7.

n West Rowan's Daishion Barger placed seventh nationally in the 60-meter hurdles.

Barger was timed in 8.24 seconds in the final. He ran 8.10 in the semis and 8.17 in his heat.

Kendall Hayes, a Texan, won the event with a clocking of 7.80. The national record for boys is 7.60 and belongs to Wayne Davis of Southeast Raleigh.
