MINNEAPOLIS — Shawn Marion had a season-high 29 points and 14 rebounds and the Dallas Mavericks stretched the league's longest active winning streak to 12 straight games with a 125-112 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday night.

The Mavericks (44-21) have climbed into second place in the Western Conference.

nNEW YORK — The Knicks beat Atlanta 99-98 when video replay showed Al Horford's basket came after the buzzer.

Referees originally ruled his short jumper good, but replay clearly showed the light was on above the backboard with the ball still in his hands.

nCLEVELAND — Mo Williams hit two free throws with nine seconds left and Delonte West made big plays down the stretch as the Cavaliers beat San Antonio 97-95.

The Cavs played their second straight game without LeBron James, who is nursing a tender right ankle.n MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Grizzlies recalled Hasheem Thabeet from the Dakota Wizards of the NBA Development League after less than two weeks in the minors.

Thabeet averaged 13.8 points, 11.2 rebounds and 3.17 blocks in six games with Dakota. He had averaged 2.5 points and 2.9 rebounds in 50 games for Memphis.

The 23-year-old is the highest drafted player to play in the NBA's minor league.

n OAKLAND, Calif. — The Golden State Warriors say center Andris Biedrins will need to undergo surgery to repair a small tear of an abdominal muscle.

NFLMILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. — A high-profile defense attorney hired by Ben Roethlisberger disputed a college student's claim that the two-time Super Bowl winner sexually assaulted her at a Georgia nightclub.

"The facts show that there was no criminal activity. No sexual assault occurred," attorney Ed Garland said in a statement. "Ben is completely innocent of any crime."

COLLEGE FOOTBALLLUBBOCK, Texas — Mike Leach is expected to return to Lubbock later this week to answer questions under oath from attorneys for Texas Tech handling the former coach's lawsuit against the school. Leach currently lives with his family in Key West, Fla.

n LANDOVER, Md. — Notre Dame and Maryland will meet next year at the Washington Redskins stadium. Notre Dame will serve as the home team because it already had an agreement with the Redskins for that date.

n BOISE, Idaho — Boise State safety Jason Robinson has been suspended indefinitely for violating team rules.

GOLFJACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The 20-year-old Ping wedges with square-shaped grooves will no longer be allowed on the PGA Tour starting March 29 under an agreement reached with Ping executives.

Phil Mickelson, Hunter Mahan, John Daly and Fred Couples were among players who used the Ping wedges. It had become such a divisive issue that Scott McCarron accused Mickelson of "cheating" by using the club.
