From staff reports
With apologies to Carson's Darius Moose, Mother Nature continues to be the most dominant player in this mixed-up, shook-up prep basketball season.
The latest:
n The Salisbury-Lexington doubleheader scheduled for Saturday was postponed to Tuesday at Lexington. The CCC tournament is now going to be an eight-team affair at Thomasville involving only the top four boys and top four girls seeds.
n The North Rowan-Albemarle doubleheader scheduled for Saturday was postponed. The earliest window for making it up would be at Albemarle on Tuesday. Both teams have games scheduled for Monday.
The YVC tournament is supposed to start Wednesday, with Chatham Central as the host for the semifinals and finals, but that's in jeopardy.
n The West Rowan-North Iredell doubleheader scheduled for Saturday was postponed.
The teams plan to play Monday in Olin with an early start. The varsity girls will take the floor at 5 p.m.
The NPC tournament was originally scheduled to start Monday, with all games at Carson, but adjustments will have to be made.
n In the SPC, A.L. Brown got all of its games in, finishing against Concord on Friday with snow falling.
The Wonder girls wound up fourth.
The Wonder boys benefited from Robinson's upset of Hickory Ridge on the final day of the regular season.
That moved Brown up to the No. 3 seed instead of No. 4. Hickory Ridge's loss knocked the Ragin' Bulls from No. 2 all the way down to No. 5.
The SPC tournament is scheduled to start Monday with higher seeds earning home games.
Brown's boys expect to take on No. 6 Robinson in the first round.
