LAWRENCE, Kan. — Cole Aldrich scored six points during a 16-1 run and Kansas used a big second half to stretch its home winning streak to 55 games.
The Jayhawks (22-1, 8-0 Big 12) led almost the entire first half but Nebraska charged out after the break on a 10-2 tear.
When Jorge Brian Diaz worked inside for a bucket that gave the Cornhuskers a 43-39 lead, Kansas called a timeout and Sherron Collins followed with a 3-pointer. A turnover gave the ball back to Kansas and Aldrich had a putback to start the take-charge run.
No. 7 Georgetown 103, No. 2 Villanova 90WASHINGTON— Austin Freeman scored 25 points and Jason Clark had 24 as Georgetown forced 16 first-half turnovers and ended Villanova's 11-game winning streak and ruined the Wildcats' perfect Big East record.
Georgetown (17-5, 7-4) led by as many as 23 points in the first half and 50-31 at halftime. Villanova (20-2, 9-1) cut the margin to 10 but never threatened to complete the comeback.
No. 4 Kentucky 81, LSU 55BATON ROUGE, La.— Freshman DeMarcus Cousins had 19 points and 13 rebounds for his sixth consecutive double-double for Kentucky.
Cousins is eighth in the country in doubles-doubles with 14 and 24th in the nation in rebounding.
The Wildcats (22-1, 7-1 SEC) trailed 6-1 until John Wall hit a jumper 4:29 into the game. They needed only 3 minutes to erase LSU's lead, scoring 41 of the next 49 points to take a 42-14 halftime lead.
No. 5 Michigan State 78, Illinois 73
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Demetri McCamey had 22 points and 11 assists to lead Illinois to a 78-73 upset of No. 5 Michigan State on Saturday night, sending the Spartans to another loss without Kalin Lucas.
No. 6 West Virginia 79, St. John's 60NEW YORK — Da'Sean Butler scored a season-high 33 points, hitting all seven 3-point attempts, and West Virginia rallied for the victory.
The Mountaineers (19-3, 8-2 Big East) trailed 43-30 more than 4 minutes into the second half before storming into the lead behind a trapping defense and a barrage of 3-pointers.
Wellington Smith had a putback sandwiched between two 3s to pull West Virginia within 45-40. Then Butler hit four 3-pointers in about 5 minutes.
Oklahoma 80, No. 9 Texas 71NORMAN, Okla. — Tommy Mason-Griffin scored 24 points for Oklahoma and Cade Davis added 20 points and 10 rebounds for the second double-double of his career.
Texas (19-4, 5-3 Big 12) cut a 19-point, second-half deficit to five in the final 2 minutes but were hampered the whole game by free-throw shooting.
Oklahoma (13-9, 4-4) used a 3-point onslaught to build a 19-point lead just after halftime.
No. 10 Kansas St. 79, Iowa St. 75AMES, Iowa — Denis Clemente scored a season-high 30 points, including six 3-pointers, and Kansas State won its fourth straight road game. Kansas State (19-4, 6-3) opened the second half with a 17-4 run.
UNLV 88, No. 12 BYU 74LAS VEGAS — Junior guard Tre'Von Willis had a career-high 33 points to lead UNLV into a first-place tie with BYU and New Mexico in the Mountain West Conference.
Willis finished with eight assists and five rebounds for the Rebels (19-4, 7-2). Jimmer Fredette led the Cougars (22-3, 7-2) with 21 points.
No. 14 Tennessee 79, South Carolina 53KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Wayne Chism scored a career-high 30 points for Tennessee.
The Vols (18-4, 6-2 Southeastern Conference) won their sixth straight over the Gamecocks (13-9, 4-4) and ninth in 11 meetings.
No. 15 New Mexico 88, San Diego St. 86, OTALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Darington Hobson scored eight of his 29 points in overtime, including two free throws with 2.7 seconds remaining, to lift New Mexico (21-3, 7-2).
But with New Mexico leading 78-76, Gay was fouled on a 3-point try and could have won it in regulation. Instead, he made two of three free throws.
No. 16 Wisconsin 62, Michigan 44ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Jason Bohannon scored 18 points to lead Wisconsin (18-5, 8-3 Big Ten).
No. 17 Gonzaga 66, Memphis 58MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Matt Bouldin scored 19 points and Gonzaga (19-4) closed the game with an 8-1 run.
Texas A&M 78, No. 20 Baylor 71COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Bryan Davis scored 22 points and B.J. Holmes hit three late 3-pointers to lead Texas A&M. Baylor (17-5, 4-4 Big 12) led for most of the game until Texas A&M was able to rally behind the key 3-pointers by Holmes.
No. 22 Pittsburgh 83, Seton Hall 58PITTSBURGH — Gilbert Brown bounced back from a scoreless game with 23 points and Pittsburgh nearly shut out Seton Hall scoring leader Jeremy Hazell.
Jermaine Dixon added 15 points for Pittsburgh (17-6, 7-4 in Big East).
No. 24 Northern Iowa 55, Southern Illinois 52CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — Adam Koch scored 11 consecutive points for Northern Iowa (21-2, 12-1 Missouri Valley) down the stretch. The Panthers improved to 11-0 at home.
No. 25 Mississippi 74, Alabama 67OXFORD, Miss. — Chris Warren scored 21 points.
