Salisbury wrestlers go 5-0 in CCC

Salisbury's wrestling team won 42-37 over West Davidson and 46-30 against Thomasville on Thursday.

The Hornets (21-6) have earned 17 consecutive victories. They won the CCC regular-season title with a 5-0 record and will face Pisgah in the first round of the 2A dual-team playoffs.

Dontarious Mills (125 pounds), Joseph Figueroa (135), Blayne Johnson (140), Tre Jackson (145), Marqui Ross (160) and Justin Adkins (285) won by pin against West Davidson. Isaiah Whitaker (189) won by default.

Sam Murph (103), Mills, Jackson, Ross and Whitaker won by pin against Thomasville. Phillip Ledbetter and Johnson won by technical fall. Robert Luther (119) won by forfeit.
