- Halloween and Crime Prevention Program, Friday, Oct. 30, 6-9 p.m., J.C. Price Post 107, 1433 Old Wilkesboro Road. Halloween costumes, food, music, dogs and firetruck displayed.

- J.C. Price Post 107 Benefit Dance, Sunday, 9 p.m.-2 a.m. Donation $6 before 9 p.m. $8 after 9 p.m. Cupid shuffle, dance contest. Winner, $300. Dress code enforced.

- United House of Prayer For All People, kitchen open Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

- Monthly breakfast at Wittenberg Lutheran Church, 6:30-10:30 a.m. Oct. 31. Corner of Bank and Oak Streets, Granite Quarry. $6 adults, age 6 and under free.

- Car wash sponsored by Westside Community Foundation Inc., 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Oct. 31. Bank of America parking lot, 200 Statesville Blvd. Inside and out, car-$10. SUV, van or truck-$15.
