Posters: National POW-MIA Recognition Day

- National POW/MIA Recognition Day will be observed Friday at the chapel at the Hefner VA Medical Center, building 19, at 10 a.m. For further information, call chaplain services at 704-638-9000, ext. 3330.

- The Society of St. Andrew will glean tomatoes beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday in China Grove. The produce goes to food banks to help feed the poor. Volunteers can e-mail gleanclt@endhunger.org with their name and phone number for more details and directions to the site.

- The Rowan Area EAA Chapter 1083 will host its 10th annual EAAgles Nest Fly-in Saturday at Rowan County Airport. Breakfast will be served 7:30-10 a.m. and lunch 11 a.m.-1p.m. The event includes games and pilot awards. The public may attend and register for the group's Flying Start program, which introduces participants to recreational aviation.

- Community breakfast at Gays Chapel United Methodist Church, 7-10 a.m. Saturday. Youth yard sale starts 7 a.m. Saturday.
