- Disciples of Joy 17th anniversary celebration begins 7 p.m. today, Halls Chapel Primitive Baptist Church, the Rev. Richard Johnson, pastor. In and out of town groups to participate.
- "Summer Jam" at J.C. Price Post 107, 1433 Old Wilksboro Road, Saturday 9 p.m.-2a.m., $6 in advance, $8 at the door, music by DJ Clean, door prizes.
