Disposition of cases heard the week of Nov. 2 in Rowan Superior Administrative Court by Judge Erwin Spainhour:
- Felony possession of firearm by felon — Yentl Thomas Davidson, 16-20 months, suspended, 36 months probation, six months intensive probation, pay court cost, abide by outlined conditions, serve 60 days at expiration of sentence he's presently serving; Mikael Anthony Swann, extraordinary mitigating findings, court finds defendant is a Vietnam veteran with honorable discharge, 311 days, jail credit, pay CAAF, weapon to be destroyed.
- Felony trafficking in cocaine — Walter Minor Grimes III, also felony possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine and felony possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, 35-42 months, jail credit, pay $50,000 fine, work release recommended when he qualifies, payment of CAAF and SBI lab fees a condition of work release, also felony trafficking in cocaine and felony possession of Schedule II controlled substance, VD in both cases.
- Felony larceny from the person — Dustin Garren Lee, action abates due to death of defendant.
- Felony possession of cocaine — Kenneth Leon Miller, two charges, 5-6 months in first case, work release recommended when he qualifies, pay CAAF and SBI lab fee, drugs to be destroyed, 5-6 months in second case at expiration of first sentence, work release recommended when he qualifies.
- Felony larceny by employee — Danielle Elizabeth Nichols, two charges, 8-10 months, suspended, serve one day in jail, jail credit, 18 months probation to be transferred to Davidson County, court cost, abide by outlined conditions, provide DNA sample, CAAF.
- Misdemeanor child abuse — Zakia Alicia Reid, 45 days, jail credit.
- Felony possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine — Charles Ray Rice, also felony maintaining vehicle/dwelling/place to keep controlled substance, 11-14 months to run concurrently with any sentence he's presently serving, pay CAAF, drugs to be destroyed.
- Felony selling cocaine — Michael Jamaal York, also two charges felony possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine, 20-24 months to run concurrently with any sentence he's presently serving, jail credit, pay SBI lab fee and CAAF, evidence to be destroyed.
