Christians must defend their freedom of religion

The Bible tells us to pray in Jesus’ name. Who are we going to listen to, the Bible or the ACLU?

Our country was founded on Christian principles. Our greatest leaders turned to their heavenly Father in prayer for help and sustenance. They weren’t ashamed to mention his name and give him glory for his guidance. If we don’t stand together, we will surely fall and let minority groups control what we can do. How can a few people think they can govern the dictates of the Christian masses? They shouldn’t have the power to tell Christians what we can and can’t do.

I challenge every Christian to speak out and stand up for what you believe and hold dear to your heart. We should let our voices be heard! We cannot be complacent and let the ACLU take away our Christian rights to worship and honor our heavenly Father.

The ACLU is chipping away the foundation of our basic beliefs and rights. Are we going to stand idle and let it change everything we believe to be sacred? If we continue to do nothing, there won’t be anything left to stand for.

Our county commissioners need to contact the ACLJ (American Center for Law and Justice), founded by Pat Robertson in 1990. The ACLJ defends the right to pray in Jesus’ name. The ACLJ is dedicated to “defending and advancing religious liberty, the sanctity of human life and the two-parent, marriage bound family.”

There’s no greater name than Jesus! Pray like you’ve never prayed before for our nation. Are we to be robbed of our Christian doctrines? Religious freedom is our right, and we must defend that right!

We’ve slumbered in the rights others have died to defend. Shout and be silent no more. The only way evil advances is for good and righteous men to do nothing.

America is the last bastion for religious freedoms. Let us slumber no more!

Faith and government

In the self-promoting postures of county commissioners who parade around with the name of my savior plastered on their campaign vans, I am not reminded of Christ and the humility that He exhibits time and time again in Scripture. Rather, I am reminded of more contemporary brothers in faith, crusaders who have fought hard to make sure their faith is the official faith of government. You know, the Taliban. Read a newspaper.

Proud of Rowan citizens

I have lived in Rowan County my whole life and am proud to be here. The place is large enough to support trade and yet small enough that everyone seems to be connected in some way. The passion and pride the citizens showed Monday night at the commission meeting was amazing. It was obvious to me that we are still in the Bible belt and still believe there is no name above Jesus. Citizens, you made me proud. Christians, take a stand now and let’s make Rowan County pleasing in God’s eyes. Commissioners have now heard and will have to react. I pray they have the courage to do the right thing.
