Multiple early morning wrecks bring injuries

An accident at U.S. 601 and West Ridge Road involving two garbage trucks has left one of the trucks overturned. Injuries are not known at this time, but traffic is heavy in the area. According to reports on the emergency scanner, a car has hit a 25-year-old man at Patterson and Cooper roads. Reports indicate the man has head trauma. Officials have asked for a helicopter to land at the old Patterson School to transport the victim. In other reports, two other less serious accidents have also occurred.
