Price High School National Alumni to hold winter meeting

Thomas Morgan, national president of the J.C. Price High School National Alumni Association, has announced the group will hold its winter regional meeting Nov. 9-12 in Charleston, S.C. The association will convene at the Holiday Inn Riverview.
In addition to the business sessions, Morgan said attendees will take a Black History tour, exploring the Gullah/Geechee culture, plantations/ slave quarters and other historical sites and participate in numerous social events being planned by conference co-chairs Derrick Rippy of Oakwood Village, Ohio, and Nadine Jones of Charlotte.
The registration fee for the conference is $79 per person and includes information packets, an historical tour, a dinner/dance at the Holiday Inn and a dinner buffet at Huger's Restaurant which is famous for its Gullah cuisine. Registration deadline is Oct. 8.

The deadline for hotel reservations is also Oct. 8. For reservations, call 800-766-4411 and reference the J.C. Price Alumni Association to receive the Friday and Saturday discounted rates of $119 per person per night and $89 per person for Sunday night. The hotel will not honor the negotiated rates after the deadline.
Transportation cost is $75 per person round trip. Seat reservations must be made by Oct. 19. The bus will leave K-Mart parking lot on Nov. 9 at 9 a.m. and return on Monday, Nov. 12. For bus reservations, contact Clara Boger at 704-603-4146.
