Davidson County car chase ends in Rowan
??A Sunday afternoon car chase that crossed three counties ended on Stokes Ferry Road and led to the arrest of three men.
Rowan County dispatchers received a call at 4:48 p.m. that an alleged robbery suspect was entering the county and were being followed by a victim, a Rowan County Sheriff's Office press release said.
Rowan County Sheriff's deputies responded to the Bringle Ferry Road area. The chase began in Davidson County and at some point entered Stanly County on High Rock Road. The suspect drove north on N.C. 49 from Richfield.
The Lexington Dispatch reported the incident occurred on Newsome Road, south of Denton, at 4:37 p.m. on Sunday.
A fight began with the victim and the alleged suspects during the robbery, the paper reported.
During the altercation at least one shot was fired by one of the suspects, but no one was injured.
Another vehicle was stashed and used during the chase.
Rowan Sheriff's deputies stopped the 2000 Chevy passenger vehicle they had been in pursuit of at N.C. 49 at Stokes Ferry Road, the release said.
The three men in the vehicle were: O'Bryant Black, 21, of Thomasville; Brandon Jordan, 23, also of Thomasville; and Edward Lee Beaty, 24, of Denton.
The Davidson County Sheriff's Office charged all three men with felony conspire to commit a robbery with a dangerous weapon and felony robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Black was said to have been the driver, Jordan and Beaty were front and rear passengers, respectively.
A handgun and cash were found in the vehicle, all of which were seized by Davidson County deputies.
Deputies also found a small amount of marijuana and pills that were identified as oxycodone.
Multiple phone calls for official information to the Davidson County Sheriff's Office were not immediately returned.
