RCCC slots motorcycle course classes
Rowan-Cabarrus Community College (RCCC) is offering its basic motorcycle rider course on multiple weekends this fall. The classes are co-sponsored by the N.C. Motorcycle Safety Education Program and RideNow Powersports of Concord.
The course fee is $200. Motorcycles are provided for the classes.
Friday-Saturday classes will meet 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sept. 17-18, Oct. 15-16 and Nov. 12-13.
Three-day weekend classes will meet 6 to 9 p.m. on Fridays and 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The weekend basic rider class schedule includes:
• Sept. 10-12;
• Oct. 8-10;
• Oct. 22-24;
• Nov. 5-7; and
• Nov. 19-21.
The Basic Rider Course is accelerated. Each exercise teaches a new skill, which builds on previously taught skills. Students who miss any portion of the class will not be allowed to continue on the riding range.
All classes will meet at RideNow Powersports, 254 Concord Parkway South (intersection of Hwy. 29 and NC 601). However, students must register through RCCC’s Continuing Education Department. To register and get more details, call RCCC at 704-216-3512, or e-mail to angie.corriher@rccc.edu. Call also to receive a complete list of the required equipment.
Due to the high demand for these classes, registration will be on a first-come first-served basis. No refunds or transfers will be made within 10 days of the class start date.
