Veterans' job fair Friday in Greensboro
GREENSBORO — The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s National Chamber Foundation, with lead sponsor Hero2Hired (H2H), will host “Hiring Our Heroes – Greensboro,” a hiring fair for veterans and military spouses.
The event will be Friday, Aug. 24, 1-5 p.m., at Greensboro Sheraton, 3121 High Point Road, Greensboro:
Interested job seekers should register for free at hoh.greatjob.net. Walk-in job seekers are allowed (veterans must provide military ID).
More than 35 employers are expected to participate with jobs available for veterans and military spouses of all ranks and levels of experience. Companies range from America's biggest employers to small companies from across the state.
Since its launch in March 2011, Hiring Our Heroes has held more than 230 hiring fairs nationwide, helping more than 10,400 veterans and military spouses find employment. Friday’s event is also part of “Hiring 500,000 Heroes,” a national campaign announced by the U.S. Chamber, National Chamber Foundation, and Capital One, to engage the business community in committing to hire 500,000 veterans and military spouses by the end of 2014.
This Hero2Hired (H2H)-sponsored hiring event is being held in partnership with the North Carolina National Guard, North Carolina Committee of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), ARNG Yellow Ribbon, the North Carolina State Chamber, North Carolina Employment Security Commission, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, The American Legion, the Department of Labor Veterans’ Employment & Training Service (DOL VETS), and other local partners.
