Workforce Investment Act participants travel to Disney for leadership program

SALISBURY — Local youths taking part in the Workforce Investment Act’s summer program traveled to the Epcot Resort recently to take part in the Disney youth education series program, “Disney’s Leadership Excellence: The Inside Track.”

Each year, individuals and groups from around the world travel to Epcot to take part in one of the several Disney programs offered throughout the resort. Most of the programs take place in and behind the scenes of the theme parks.

Areas of study include career discovery, life management, physical science, natural science, history, and art and humanities. The programs use varied resources onstage and backstage to bring real world examples to the learning experience. These two- to three-hour interactive educational experiences are available at both the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Resort in California. They are led by professional Disney facilitators who help guide the students and assist them in understanding the key lessons.
