RCCC Small Business Center offers courses

RCCC Small Business Center offers courses

The Small Business Center at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is offering “Basic Accounting for Small Business,” and “QuickBooks Pro Level 1,” courses in August and September.

The basic accounting class will meet 6 to 9 p.m. Thu

rsdays, Aug. 26 to Sept. 9, at RCCC’s Cabarrus Business & Technology Center in Concord. The course fee is $65.

Students will cover revenue, expenses, net income, debits and credits, assets, liabilities, and owners’ equity. The class also will focus on reading financial statements.

The QuickBooks Pro Level 1 class will meet 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursdays, Sept. 23 to Oct. 21 at the Cabarrus Business & Technology Center. Tuition is $79.

The 15-hour course will take students through charting accounts, receiving payments, paying bills, tracking cash sales, creating invoices, making deposits, writing checks and more.

The SBC also offers free seminars with support from the Rowan County Chamber of Commerce, Cabarrus Regional Chamber of Commerce, the City of Kannapolis, the Rowan Business Alliance, RowanWorks Economic Development, the Small Business & Technology Development Center and Historic Downtown Salisbury.

The seminars cover a broad range of small business topics, including business start-ups, business financing, marketing, internet business, business growth and development, taxes, recordkeeping and customer service.
