Kannapolis parks sponsoring 5 trips

The Kannapolis Parks & Recreation Department is offering several trips to attractions in North and South Carolina beginning next month.

In all, five different trips will be offered through the end of the year. Options include:

• “Love Machine the Musical,” Barn Dinner Theater, Greensboro. Enjoy feasting at the theatre’s home style buffet then take a trip down memory lane in their high energy revue of classic Motown. Date: Aug. 31. Cost: $55 per person (dinner and show included). Registration deadline: Aug. 13.

• Old Salem, Winston Salem. Come experience the wonders of life during the 1700s. See toys, candles, pastries and woodwork constructed by hand. Date: Sept. 23. Cost: $28 per person (lunch not included). Registration deadline: Sept. 10.

• Autumn Jubilee at Dan Nicolas Park in Salisbury. Shop local craft vendors. Date: Oct. 2. Cost: $5 (lunch not included). Registration deadline: Sept. 17.

• Daniel Boone Inn & Mast General Store, Boone. Lunch at the Daniel Boone Inn and then shopping at the Mast General Store. Date: Nov. 13. Cost: $25 per person (doesn’t include gratuity for servers). Registration deadline: Oct. 29.

• Christmas in Charleston. A stop in Mt. Pleasant for the farmer’s market/craft show and then a visit into historic downtown Charleston to see their Holiday Festival of Lights. Date: Dec. 11. Cost: $25 per person (includes lunch only). Registration deadline: Dec. 1.

The trips, which are for those 18 and older, will all depart from Village Park in Kannapolis. Each trip is limited to a maximum of 25 spaces, and full payment is due at the time of registration. Departure and return times vary based upon the particular trip.
