The Toyota Scion of Concord Summer Events Series in Kannapolis will present a two-day beach music festival on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. The festival will be at the Village Park Amphitheater, between West A and C streets off Dale Earnhardt Boulevard.

The Beach Music Festival will feature Jim Quick & Coastline, The Band of Gold, The Embers and The Craig Woolard Band.

The weekend will feature a variety of beach music in addition to jazz, rock and bluegrass. The festival kicks off on Friday with Jim Quick & Coastline, playing the mix of blues, rock, jazz and soul that defines Southern music. On Saturday, The Band of Gold plays at 5 p.m., followed by The Embers at 6:30 and The Craig Woolard Band at 8:30.

The evening is sponsored by city of Kannapolis Parks and Recreation, Toyota Scion of Concord; Ike’s Construction Inc.; Cabarrus Arts Council; CMC-NorthEast; Alley, Williams, Carmen & King; Waste Management; Site Solutions; Woolpert; Best of Care Assisted Living; Benchmark CMR; Atlantic American Properties; Piedmont Farmers Market; Rutledge, Friday, Safrit & Smith; Hamilton Moon Stephens Steele & Martin PLLC; Walker Marketing; Oiles America Corp.; and H&R Lawn Service.

This is the last concert for the summer, but Movies in the Park and Stories Under the Stars will continue. For more, visit www.cityofkannapolis.com/summerevents.

Poll
What do you think of the legislature putting parts of Rowan County in three different congressional districts and two state Senate districts?
  • I like it; Rowan will have more members of Congress and the state Senate
  • I don't like it; it's hard enough to figure out who my congressman is
  • I don't care about politics, so it makes no difference to me
