Tourism officials to hold public session
SALISBURY — Tourism officials will hold a public information session Wednesday to field questions about the new 10-year tourism master plan.
Called “Completion and Connection: A 10-year Master Plan for the Salisbury-Rowan County Visitor Economy,” copies will be available from 5 to 6 p.m. in the second floor seminar room of the Plaza at 100 W. Innes St.
The master plan lays out a strategy to double the economic impact of tourism in Rowan County from $125 million to $250 million by 2023 and make Salisbury-Rowan an overnight destination for arts and culture, agritourism, rail, light adventure and more.
Members of the community are invited to drop in and receive a copy of the master plan and ask questions.
