15-year-old still missing; authorities ask for help
ROCKWELL — Authorities are continuing to search for a 15-year-old who went missing last week.
Sequoyah Carpenter, of Crescent Road, was a resident of Nazareth Children’s Home, deputies said. No contact has been made with the teenager since June 6.
Rowan County Sheriff’s Office Capt. John Sifford said deputies have been to several houses in the area, but have been unable to locate Carpenter.
She has been entered into the national database for missing persons.
Authorities said Carpenter went to school at East Rowan High School on June 6, but did not return to Nazareth.
She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a light blue American Eagle hoodie, a black jacket with fur, sandals and was carrying a black back pack.
Deputies said Carpenter was not carrying identification, money or a cell phone.
The missing persons report said Carpenter has an aunt who lives in Lincoln County and a grandmother in Rowan County.
She has not tried to contact her grandmother, deputies said.
Authorities said Carpenter has only lived at the children’s home for a short time and has threatened to run away.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Rowan Investigator Jon Brindle at 704-216-8706.
