SALISBURY — The merchants of Historic Downtown Salisbury invite you to Shop & Sip on Friday, 5-8 p.m.

Shop for hot summer deals while sipping some free iced teas (and other assorted refreshments) made especially for you by the merchants for this occasion.

Enjoy live music by Hating Jesse at the Salisbury School of Music, contemporary and traditional gospel by Adam Broyles at Southern Spirit Gallery, and live jazz saxophone by Tonya Maynard at A Little Sumthin’ Sumthin’.

After the stores close, check out Dry Run Bluegrass Band at The Blue Vine.

There’s a little something for everyone Friday evening. Treat yourself to a free chair massage at Fine Frame Gallery. Meet Jay Nodine, who will be signing his new book “Jay’s Jokers,” at Literary Bookpost. And enter the drawing for a free SweeTea shirt at Stichin’ Post Gifts or watch Clyde create “porch paintings” in front of Fine Frame Gallery.

For the kids, head down to Just The Thing for a kids’ music sing-along. Or get some free critter cookies at Cinderella’s Closet or free candy at Penny Pinchers. And don’t forget the free horsey rides on Champion at Critters.

Salisbury Wine Shop will have a wine tasting of eight wines for $5, and you will find discounts on Tastebud’s smoothies and specials at Dead Ed’s, Faye’s on Main, and more.

So, meet us Downtown for the best in hot summer fun, and find out why 75 shops and 15 restaurants create one special Place.
