Vandals trash car

Vandals targeted a Salisbury woman's car, damaging the paint and tires and smearing catfish bait on the locks and handles.

Capt. John Sifford of the Rowan County Sheriff's Office said a group of suspects have been identified in the vandalism that is apparently some type of domestic situation.

One or more teenage suspects targeted the 1999 Mustang owned by Helen Smith Presnell, 223 Windsor Drive.

The tires were deflated, the windshield wiper blades were removed. The windshield cowl panel was damaged an estimated $200.

The car was at the home of the girl's father, Van Lee Boyd, 1311 Oak Grove Lane. The front door was egged.

Sifford said one or more people made an admission to their involvement.
