Cabarrus County area law enforcement agencies are looking for a man suspected in robberies in Cabarrus and Stanly counties.
On Feb. 23 at approximately 3:30 p.m., a suspect entered Bethel Elementary School in Midland and stole multiple credit cards and Visa check cards from several victims' handbags in unattended rooms.
The suspect then used these stolen cards to buy numerous gift cards for various retailers at a variety of Food Lion and Circle K stores in Stanly, Cabarrus and Mecklenburg counties.
The suspect was described as a black male, late 20s to early 30s, 5 feet, 10 inches, medium build, approximately 175 to 190 pounds, with facial hair.
The suspect was described as polite, well dressed and wearing a black jacket, gray dress slacks, sunglasses and a distinctive gray baseball cap with a sticker on the bill of the cap.
The suspect is also believed to be involved with similar crimes at W.R. Boger Elementary School and Harrisburg Elementary School in Cabarrus County, as well as Stanfield Elementary School in Stanly County.
This suspect has reportedly used stolen financial cards in Pageland, S.C., to buy gift cards.
