- The Pfeiffer University Wind Ensemble winter concert, 7 p.m., Stokes Student Center Community Room on the Misenheimer campus. Will include a number of favorites from the classical repertoire and feature a solo by Dr. Brent Harvey, who instructs tuba and euphonium, and narration by Sylvia Hoffmire, director of cultural programs at Pfeiffer. Free and open to the public.
Saturday, March 13
- St. Patrick's Day pancake breakfast, sponsored by the Cabarrus Literacy Council, 7-10 a.m. at the Applebee's on Concord Parkway. Tickets available by contacting Karen Whichard at 704-262-1109 or kwhichard@walker-marketing. Adults, $7; children, $5. Volunteers and staff for the council will be serving a breakfast of pancakes, sausage and juice to raise funds for the non-profit.
