Drivers will need to find alternate routes around two rail crossings in Salisbury on Wednesday as Norfolk Southern performs maintenance on its tracks.

The crossing at Klumac Road will be closed about 9:30 a.m. and will remain closed between three and five hours, a company official said. After workers finish there, they’ll move to Monroe Street and close that crossing for several hours.

The work is part of scheduled maintenance on the tracks between Salisbury and Hickory. It involves replacing ties and reconditioning rails and the rail bed, the company said.
