Dr. Racelle Weiman, a noted Holocaust educator, will speak on “Forbidden Music: Nazi Suppression of Art and Culture,” during a noon luncheon March 1 at First United Methodist Church.

Tickets for the luncheon are $35 each. Deadline to secure a seat by sending payment is this Thursday, Feb. 23.

Checks should be made out to Salisbury Symphony Guild and mailed to P.O. Box 4264, Salisbury, NC 28145.

Payment also can be made by Visa or MasterCard by calling the symphony office at 704-637-4314.

Proceeds from the luncheon benefit the symphony guild. Weiman’s appearance is linked later this spring to the Charlotte appearance of the Violins of Hope, 18 surviving and restored violins from the Holocaust.

One of those violins will be brought to Salisbury and played in a free concert April 7 at Omwake Dearborn Chapel on the Catawba College campus.
