Kannapolis offering trips to wine festivals

Kannapolis Parks & Recreation Department is offering day trips to two regional wine festivals. Visit the Stanly County Winter Wine Festival on Saturday, Feb. 25 to enjoy some of the region’s best vintages, food samples and entertainment.

Meet at 8:45 a.m. at Village Park to depart at 9 a.m. Bus transportation will return to Village Park at 3 p.m. The cost of $30 per person covers admission, wine and food samples and entertainment. Lunch is not included. Registration and payment deadline is Feb. 10.

An afternoon of shopping and activities is followed by an evening of Grillin’ & Chillin’ on Friday, April 13, at a new festival in downtown Blowing Rock. North Carolina barbecue, regional wines, brews and blues are featured at this casual event. The cost of $45 includes festival admission. Meet at Village Park at 12:45 p.m. Bus transportation leaves Village Park at 1 p.m. returning at 11 p.m. The deadline to register and pay is March 16.

Trip minimum attendance is 10; maximum is 25. To register, call Kannapolis Parks & Recreation Department at 704-920-4343.
