Thieves take appliances, building materials

Staff report

Thieves took almost everything but the house in a burglary on Bringle Ferry Road.

They took the heating and air conditioning unit, a water heater, wiring and assorted building materials.

The value of items taken was estimated at $7,900. The theft occurred between Jan. 21 and 22 at a house at 2755 Bringle Ferry Road owned by Jack Barry Hoover.

- Wilco Hess on Peeler Road reported the theft of $555.02 worth of diesel fuel on Jan. 22.

- Bryant Westley Miller, 1885 Patterson Road, reported the theft of a John Deere riding mower valued at $1,600. It was taken between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Jan. 11.

- Pearl's Pawn & Gun, 1598 N. Main St., China Grove, reported the theft of two iPods, and other electronics.

- A resident of St. Matthews Church Road reported someone threw a piece of wood through the window.

- James Norman Accoo was charged with possession of a controlled substance on penal institution premise, a felony.

- Jonathan Paul Mayers, was charged with a assault with a deadly weapon in a domestic incident at 1180 Sleepy Hollow Road.

- More than $3,100 worth of jewelry and electronic items were taken from the home of Judy Zimmerman Hopkins, 175 Beck Road.

Items taken included watches, PlayStation 3 and assorted games, an HP computer and assorted jewelry.

The theft occurred between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Jan. 21.

- Agiston Yazez Penaloza, of 3809 Manor Drive, Greensboro, reported the theft of a 2003 Silver Mitsubushi Eclipse, valued at $3,000, from 1010 Julian Road. The theft occurred between Jan. 21-22.

- Republic Refrigeration reported the theft of a Miller welder from the 1300 block of French Belk Road, Mount Ulla.
